Landscape Maintenance Foreman

Pearle Hospitality has partnered with Silverfern Landscape Group, a Guelph based landscape company that focuses on large scale, high-end residential and commercial work. We are currently looking for a foreman/forewomen to join our growing team in the Hamilton/Cambridge/Guelph area. We offer a great work environment and competitive wages- this role ranges between $18-22/hour depending on relevant experience.

As Foreperson, you will be responsible for the day to day supervision of a grounds maintenance crew and must be proficient in all aspects of grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, pruning, care of equipment, plant ID, tree and shrub care.

Must be able to drive truck and trailer following MTO/CVOR guild lines for tying down, proper storage of liquids/fuel.

You will be responsible for operating Zero turns, walk behind mowers, trimmers, backpack blowers. Must be able to problem solve small issues with equipment in the field. Report damages to your manager, and schedule maintenance of all equipment including truck and trailer to your manager

For this position, you must be self-motivated, have good people and organizational skills, cultivate a positive work environment and instil an ethic of teamwork and professionalism among crew.and a good driving record.

CHT certification or certifications in safety, machine operation, would be an asset but not required. Drivers abstract will be required for first interview.

In this role, leadership experience, attention to detail, and creating excellent client relationships are paramount.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • 3-5 years experience in the landscape industry
  • Looking for a career in the Green Industry
  • some carpentry skill considered an asset
  • tree and plant care and installation
  • a strong team player with great leadership skills
  • a clean drivers abstract
  • experience towing a trailer, following proper MTO/CVOR guidelines for securing loads and driving
  • first aid training considered assist
  • Able to lead crew in “tail gate” sessions, ensure everyone is following company policies for safety
  • cultivate a positive work environment and instil an ethic of teamwork and professionalism among crew.
